Construction Progress Update

Work on the Longhouse continues to move forward steadily, with several key milestones reached over the past month.

Site and Foundation Work

Construction within the building footprint has progressed in coordination with the Geotechnical Engineer, BC Hydro, and mechanical and electrical service providers. Insulation and dampproofing around the foundation and building perimeter have been completed. Mechanical and electrical services have been installed below the future floor slab, and backfilling is now complete in preparation for the upcoming concrete pour.

Structural Progress

The structural phase is advancing with engineered wood (glulam) post-and-beam installation and framed wall construction underway. The mechanical mezzanine floor and framing structure are now complete. Crews are also prefabricating wall and roof panels on site within a climate-controlled enclosure.

Civil and Site Coordination

Civil works specific to the Longhouse have been carried out in coordination with Sproat Lake Contracting, supporting site readiness and integration with underground services.

Next Steps

The project is preparing for the floor slab pour in the coming weeks. The kitchen component has also been initiated, with the contract in place and deposit submitted so fabrication and planning can begin.
