Security & Emergency Services supports community safety, emergency preparedness, and emergency response coordination for Ahousaht.

The department is led by Curtis Dick, Manager, who brings experience in firefighting, first responding, and emergency response. Under his leadership, the department continues to focus on building a stronger and more prepared emergency response system for the community.

Current Priorities

Security & Emergency Services continues to strengthen local emergency preparedness through training, recruitment, and improved communication during emergencies.

Work is ongoing to support firefighter recruitment and training opportunities for local responders, while continuing to respond to community safety concerns and emergencies as they arise.

The department also works closely with RCMP and other partners to help support community wellbeing and safety.
