The Operations & Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining key infrastructure and facilities that support the Ahousaht community.
This includes the operation and upkeep of:
Transfer Station pickup schedule: Monday - Trash Tuesday - Recycle, Blue/Yellow bins Wednesday - Compost Thursday - Recyle, red bins Friday - Trash *schedule may vary pending on office closures Please contact O&M manager Alec Dick or Assistant manager Greg Hayes with any questions |
Message from Scott at the Transfer StationGreat job, Ahousaht It’s really encouraging to see more households composting and doing their part to reduce garbage. Over the past pickup, the crew collected about 60 compost buckets, up from 44 buckets two weeks ago, and just over 20 buckets per week before that. All of that compost will be turned into soil for use in the community. If you need a compost bucket, recycling bin, or bags, feel free to reach out to Scott or the crew. They’re happy to help get you set up. Our goal is to reduce the number of garbage bins sent out by barge from four down to one or two, and with everyone’s help, we can get there together. |
